Promotional Google Camp Chair

We just produced camp chairs for Google that we're really excited and thrilled about - they must have read our article: Camping, Tailgating, Concerts - Where Do You Lounge?

Even Google knows the importance of promotional messaging. When you're shopping for promotional products, folding chairs are hardly the first thing that comes to mind. But think about it. Where do you like to lounge? The beach? Outdoor concerts? Ball games? The one thing all those places have in common is crowds, and every crowd contains potential customers.

It's All About the Message on Your Promotional Mug

I've blogged about the importance of what your promotional products say to your audience and how to get the message across. DirectDaily always has interesting posts of 'Daily news about direct marketing & engaging advertising' and one post particularly caught my eye. This is a campaign from "Eskom," South Africa's National Energy Commission, to promote energy saving in the bussiness sector. South Africa has been experiencing massive blackouts and this is part of their initiative. When filled with hot water, the black mug fades to white showing this message "With your help, we can achieve it. Please conserve electricity." promotional mug

Trade Show Tip of the Month #2

Replace "Can I help you?" with "What caught your eye?"

"No thanks, I'm just looking." That's the standard response when you pose the question, "Can I help you?" The possibility for a conversation has been completely shut down. At a tradeshow, you can't afford to lose out on opportunities to make your pitch.

From now on, ask "What caught your eye?" or "What are you interested in?" Those two questions are much more engaging. Also, you're showing an interest in what the visitor wants and needs. You've shifted from an "I" sentence to a "you" sentence.

A visitor who was initially only interested in snagging a free goodie might discover that they're actually interested in your business, too! After all, you paid for a booth in order to promote your business, not play Santa Claus with pens and tote bags. With these types of engaging questions, you're taking a proactive role in initiating new contacts and customers.

Once you've had a chance to chat with the visitor, seal the deal with a 28 oz. Sports Bottle. You can get pretty thirsty after a whole day of booth hopping and networking!

Trade Show Tip of the Month #1

Engage visitors by placing promo products at the back of the booth

Most tradeshow visitors like to the do the old "grab and run." They snatch a pen or keychain from the front of your table and dash off without even making eye contact.

When that happens, you're losing out on the person-to-person contact that makes a lasting impact. Your logo on the promo product might stick with them, but you didn't have the opportunity to truly network. The solution to this dilemma is quite simple - display your promotional products at the back of the booth.

Now you've completely reversed the scenario. You personally hand the promo item over to the visitor, giving you a chance to shake hands and introduce yourself. Using the back of the booth technique, you've seriously upped the return on your marketing investment.

Another similar approach is to keep special promotional items in a box behind the table. You hand these premium items to visitors you've made a connection with. A Non-Woven Promotional Tote works perfectly for this. It comes in bold colors, and tradeshow visitors appreciate having some way to carry around their goodies.

Plus, the people you give the totes to will feel special. You've instantly established brand loyalty!
