Keep It Cool: 5 Ways to Use Promotional Sports Bottles

The hot summer months are the perfect time of year to use promotional sports bottles to market your business. Need some ideas? Here are 5 ways to make good use of sports bottles when the weather is toasty.

  1. logo sports bottleFill up a sports bottle with candies or other small gifts for employee or customer birthdays. Or, go with a red, white and blue theme for Independence Day. The Polycarb Water Jug 18 Ounce Size comes in blue and red!
  2. Raise money for a good cause by selling sports bottles at an outdoor summer event. Sweeten the pot by giving away a free ice cold beverage to each customer! The 36 oz. Jumbo Polycarbonate Sport Bottle is a good choice because of its extra large size.
  3. Run a special where customers get a free sports bottle with each purchase or with a minimum purchase of $10 or $20. Order in bulk and you can get the 28 oz. Sports Bottle for well under a $1 a piece - making it an affordable option for running a big promotion.
  4. Put together a summer-themed marketing campaign including sports bottles that say "Check out our hot deals!"
  5. Going to a July tradeshow? Sports bottles make awesome giveaways - be sure to put a business card inside each one!

It's All About the Message on Your Promotional Mug

I've blogged about the importance of what your promotional products say to your audience and how to get the message across. DirectDaily always has interesting posts of 'Daily news about direct marketing & engaging advertising' and one post particularly caught my eye. This is a campaign from "Eskom," South Africa's National Energy Commission, to promote energy saving in the bussiness sector. South Africa has been experiencing massive blackouts and this is part of their initiative. When filled with hot water, the black mug fades to white showing this message "With your help, we can achieve it. Please conserve electricity." promotional mug

What is the message on your next promotional coffee mug?

Trade Show Tip of the Month #2

Replace "Can I help you?" with "What caught your eye?"

"No thanks, I'm just looking." That's the standard response when you pose the question, "Can I help you?" The possibility for a conversation has been completely shut down. At a tradeshow, you can't afford to lose out on opportunities to make your pitch.

From now on, ask "What caught your eye?" or "What are you interested in?" Those two questions are much more engaging. Also, you're showing an interest in what the visitor wants and needs. You've shifted from an "I" sentence to a "you" sentence.

A visitor who was initially only interested in snagging a free goodie might discover that they're actually interested in your business, too! After all, you paid for a booth in order to promote your business, not play Santa Claus with pens and tote bags. With these types of engaging questions, you're taking a proactive role in initiating new contacts and customers.

Once you've had a chance to chat with the visitor, seal the deal with a 28 oz. Sports Bottle. You can get pretty thirsty after a whole day of booth hopping and networking!
