Jason Cormier begins the podcast by asking "why should anyone care about a podcast about promotional products?" Answer: the promotional products industry is a multi-billion dollar industry because marketing with promotional products simply works. Smart marketers need to be aware of what and how promotional products impact their marketing efforts.Jason introduces Brian Cerra, VP of Best Promotions, talks briefly about his background and experience. Brian discusses the criteria of choosing promotional products (lead time, quality, and pricing).

Brian talks about the value of spending time on the phone with somebody who has an understanding of the industry and products. He notes that although he is the Vice President of the company, he makes it a point to spend all day on the phone with customers.

Product of the month focus: The camping chair. Brian discusses the advantages of the camping chair as a promotional product. The advantages include the chair as a unisex product, a product with a large imprint area for your logo (in addition to the ability to print on the bag the chair folds into), quick lead time, one-year warranty, and as a product people will actually use.
